We postponed the BHIM festival

Burniton Music Group’s Head of Public Relations, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has provided an explanation for Stonebwoy’s lack of attendance and involvement at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming performance, which was held on September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Shatta Wale and Efya were among the greatest stars in Ghana at the event, which attracted a lot of interest both in person and online. But Stonebwoy’s absence was immediately noticed by fans, who speculated on social media that the Dancehall performer had purposefully decided not to support Sarkodie’s event.

In an interview with Peace FM, Vida refuted these notions, stating that Stonebwoy’s group did, in fact, make deliberate and calculated choices to assist Sarkodie in the background.

She claims that out of a profound regard for the rapper, the BHIM Nation team made the decision to give Sarkodie’s event first priority, making sure he got as much media coverage as possible prior to, during, and following the performance.

She revealed that Stonebwoy’s team had originally intended to reveal the BHIM Festival ticket sales on September 26, the day of Rapperholic Homecoming. They purposefully delayed the announcement, though, so as not to interfere with Sarkodie’s performance.

Vida clarified,

”As Stonebwoy’s crew, we had to make some sacrifices because of Sarkodie’s performance. We intended to formally announce the event on September 26 in order to have precisely three months to market it before the BHIM Festival, which is set for December 26. However, we chose to wait because Sarkodie’s event was on September 27. We wanted him to receive all the publicity and media coverage he was due.”

To support Stonebwoy’s squad, Sarkodie’s Rapperholic, we postponed the announcement of the BHIM festival. She went on to say that the team kept postponing its own campaign even after Sarkodie’s performance.

She went on to say,

”We had planned to make our official announcement after Sarkodie’s show ended, but we decided to wait as we thought he should still have pleasure in the spotlight. Since post-event discussions and analysis are crucial, our team decided to hold off on publicizing the BHIM Festival until after he had gained that amount of experience.”

Vida went on to express her displeasure with the criticism aimed at Stonebwoy, emphasizing that his group has consistently shown support for other artists in the business.

She clarified,

You can’t just play Stonebwoy’s songs from beginning to end in this ecosystem, therefore we have everyone in mind. You must allow others to have their moments as well. Rap isn’t really comparable to any of the genres we perform, including reggae, dancehall, and Afro-dancehall. I find it hard to comprehend why people claim that he purposefully chose not to back Sarkodie because of this.

She said that professionalism, respect for one another, and an awareness of how timing and cooperation support the development of Ghana’s entertainment sector informed the team’s decisions.
